Kiwanis Pancake Day, April 17

The Kiwanis Pancake Day will be held on Wednesday, April 17 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Friends Community Center (1202 18th St., Portsmouth). The cost of entry is $5 per person. Tickets can be purchased in advanced from any Kiwanis member or at the door. The cost of entry includes all the pancakes you can eat, two pieces of sausage and a drink.

Members of the Portsmouth Kiwanis, area Key Clubs and the Aktion Club will all be on hand to help serve and provide an exquisite dining experience of flapjack fun.

Doors open at 7 a.m. and will remain open and serving hot, fresh flapjacks until 7 p.m. For more information on tickets or the event, contact Kara Tieman at 740-354-7791, ext. 3313.

Scioto County road work schedule

Craig J. Opperman P.E., Scioto County Engineer, announced the work schedule for the week of April 15-19, 2013.

Berm work and cutting trees: Lucasville-Minford Road and Cook Road – in Jefferson Township will be closed Monday, April 15-19, from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. each day. The location of the closure is between 500 feet east of Cook Road and Morris Lane-Blue Run Road which includes the intersection with Cook Road.

Also berm work and cutting trees at Millers Run-Fallen Timber Road in Jefferson Township.

Boil water notice

The South Shore (Ky.) Water Works Company announced a boil water notice in effect Thursday from East Tygart, Tygart Bend Road, Flat Hollow due to renewing six-inch PVC line. Boil water for a minimum of five minutes. For questions, call the South Shore Water Works Company at 606-932-3531.
