Business license renewals

Please be advised that licenses due for issuance and annual renewal pursuant to Chapters 705 through 757 (Business Regulations) of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Portsmouth regarding the various business types within the City of Portsmouth must be applied for with corresponding payment of license fee at the Police Department Records Bureau at the Portsmouth Municipal Building, 728 Second Street, Portsmouth.

These businesses include, but are not limited to, the following:

Billiards and Pool; Operation of Poolrooms; Bowling Alleys; Roller Skating; Shooting Galleries; Dance Halls; Night Clubs; Itinerant Street Musicians; Pushcarts for Collecting Junk; Household Movers; Junk Shops, Second-hand dealers and Antique dealers; Second-hand Automobile Dealers; Automobile Wreckers; Peddlers of Goods Carried by Hand or in Vehicles; Street Vendors; Open Markets; Fortune telling; Junk Yards; Taxicabs; Theaters and Shows; Mechanical Amusement Devices.

Any of the above business entities that have not applied for or renewed their business license for 2013 should apply for and secure such license or renewal immediately at the Portsmouth Police Department Records Bureau office between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Madison Township Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees of Madison Township held their organizational meeting for 2013. Chris Rase was reelected president and Dave Conkey was elected vice president.

Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. at the township meeting room on White Gravel Road, Minford.
