Wenstrup calls Washington “den of double standards.”

If you have ever thought that the president and members of Congress should have to live with the same plans they subject you to, Republican Congressman Brad Wenstrup (OH-2) says he agrees and Friday he began a national petition drive to call on President Obama, U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi to live under the laws they wrote and passed.
Wenstrup called upon Democratic leadership to repeal the Affordable Healthcare Act (Obamacare) instead of what he described as “unlawfully exempting themselves at taxpayer expense.” National news media outlets have reported that the Obama Administration’s Office of Personnel Management is seeking to provide a special exemption for members of Congress and their congressional staff. Wenstrup, a physician and former U.S. Army Combat Surgeon who was stationed in Iraq, spoke out against what he said is the special treatment being called for by federal officials.
“Obamacare is bad medicine and giving a special exemption for any member of Congress or congressional staffer goes against the rule of law,” Wenstrup said. “If there’s one thing all Americans can agree on it’s that Washington insiders should not be given the privilege of avoiding the dangers of Obamacare. Americans who agree that, when it comes to Obamacare, there should be no special pass for Congress, can go to www.NoSpecialPass.com and sign the national petition calling for end to this outrage.”
Wenstrup noted that reports in the many news outlets including the Wall Street Journal have uncovered the fact that “the White House is suspending the law to create a double standard.”
“Washington is a den of double standards and it’s time to stop,” Wenstrup said. “By signing the “No Special Pass” petition, we can spark a national movement that will ensure there’s no Obamacare double standard.”
