POINT PLEASANT — A Point Pleasant man has been arrested and accused of attempting to operate a meth lab.

According to the Point Pleasant Police Department, on Saturday, Sheldon B. Hill, III, 33, Point Pleasant, was observed with two other people sitting on the flood wall near Lewis St.

Patrolman Mitch Waugh stopped to identify the three subjects and while doing so, noticed they had left a bag behind. Upon inspecting the bag, ingredients were allegedly found to cook meth, along with other cooking items.

Waugh then observed Hill running away from the area and was later caught hiding in a nearby field. The PPPD also reports Hill had other alleged meth making materials in his possession when he was taken into custody.

Hill was transported to the Western Regional Jail where he remained as of press time on Monday evening. His bond was set at $100,000 in Mason County Magistrate Court.

Another arrest is pending in this case, according to the PPPD.
