Ronald Lee Jewett


Ronald Lee Jewett, age 69, of Adkins Hoffer Hill Road, Otway died 7:28 a.m. Thursday, June 27, 2013, at Cabell Huntington Hospital from injuries received in an ATV accident.


He was born October 27, 1943, in McDermott, Ohio, a son of the late Walter and Ruth Burchett Jewett. On Dec. 31, 1963, he was united in marriage to Gertrude “Trudy” Runkle who survives. Also surviving are one son, Bryan K. (Opal) Jewett of Lucasville, Ohio, grandchildren, Brandon Keith Jewett of San Diego, California, Dakoda Jewett of Otway, Ashley Marie Jewett of Lucasville, and Faith Nicole Jewett of Lucasville, one brother, Dan Jewett of Portsmouth, and one sister, Norma Webb of Portsmouth, special friends, Larry Cooper, Roger Weakly, and his special friend at home, his jack russell, Ed.


Ron was preceded in death by one son, Ronald Allen Jewett, one daughter, Kathy E. Jewett, and six brothers, David, Keith, Mike, Robert, Donald, and Ralph.


Ron was a retired truck driver, a member of Teamsters Local #83, and attended the Tick Ridge Community Church.


Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Botkin Funeral Home in Otway with Pastor Larry Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in Oswego Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
