Donald Blanton


Donald Lacy Blanton, 72, of Lucasville, died Friday, June 7, 2013 at his residence.


He was born July 2, 1940 in Lucasville, a son of the late Lacy and Lillie Caudill Blanton.


Don was a retired Foreman and Supervisor with M.P. Dory Company in Columbus, and was a member of the Laborer’s Union 83 of Portsmouth.


He is survived by his wife, Kathryn “Kathy” Marie Chancey Blanton; two sons, Donald Kevin (Denise) Blanton of Lucasville, and Michael (Melanie) Blanton of Chillicothe; one daughter Sharon (Kenneth) Neville of Lucasville; 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; one brother, Arnold Blanton of Lucasville; and one sister, Catherine Stephenson of Portsmouth.


He was also preceded in death by one brother, Robert Blanton; and three sisters, Lorraine Brigner, Ruby Grimes, and Merzie Weeks.


Graveside services will be conducted 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at Blanton Mountain Family Cemetery on Ganderhook Road with Kelly Carver officiating. Friends may call from noon to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville.
