Thomas Taylor Gulker, 74


Thomas Taylor “Tom” Gulker, 74, of Portsmouth, died Thursday, May 30, 2013 at BridgePort Health Care. He was born June 16, 1938 in Portsmouth to the late George Donald Gulker and Mary Imogene Stalder Gulker.


Tom attended Miami University of Ohio and was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of Cornerstone United Methodist Church, and a life member of Portsmouth Lodge No. 154 B.P.O.E. He was an avid golfer at the Elks Country Club and OSU Buckeye fan.


Tom retired in the early 1990s. He had worked many years at the Oldsmobile-Cadillac dealership in Portsmouth.


Tom is survived by his wife, Janis Hensley Gulker, whom he married May 20, 1978 in Portsmouth; one son, Greg and his wife Karla Gulker of Portsmouth; one daughter, Marjorie E. Gulker of Astoria, New York; one brother, Gary (Elissa) Gulker of McDermott; one sister Linda (Jr.) Wolfe of Marion, Virginia; three nieces and two nephews; many cousins and special friends.


Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, June 3, 2013 at F. C. Daehler Mortuary Company in Portsmouth with Pastor Mark Seevers officiating. Visitation will be noon to 3 p.m. Sunday at Daehler’s and one hour prior to the funeral. Interment will be in Memorial Burial Park.


Memorial donations may be made to the Ohio River Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross, 1801 Robinson Avenue, Portsmouth, Ohio 45662.
