Ruth Bramblette, 84


Ruth Bramblette, 84, of Rosemount Road, Portsmouth, died Sunday, May 19, 2013, at her residence.


Born Feb. 24, 1929, a daughter of the late Charles H. and Myrtle Susie (Wilson) Brown, she was a homemaker, a member of Mabert Road Baptist Church in Portsmouth, and a graduate of Valley Local Schools in the class of 1947.


She is survived by two daughters, Linda (Terry) Mathias of Atlanta, Ga., Brenda Bramblette of Flowery Branch, Ga.; two sons, Alvin (Paula) Bramblette of Lucasville, David Bramblette of Rosemount Road, Portsmouth; five grandchildren, Jimmy Markins-Mathias, Ryan Markins-Mathias, Aaron Franklin, Brittany Crews, Jonathan Bramblette; three great grandchildren, Joshua Franklin, Royal Crews, Weston Bramblette and one brother, Frank E. Brown of Lucasville.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin William Bramblette on June 29, 2007, whom she married on May 22, 1946; a sister, Sarah May Evelyn Milar; a brother, William Brown, and a sister-in-law, Jessie Brown.


Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m.Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at Ewin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Pastor Jack Williams officiating. Burial will be in Fairview-Bennett Cemetery near Minford. Friends may call at the funeral Home in Minford from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
