Michael Rickey, 42


Michael Lawrence Rickey, 42, of Portsmouth, passed away at his home, Wednesday, May 15, 2013. He was born April 2, 1971, in Portsmouth, a son of Lawrence B. and Virginia Crabtree Rickey of Lucasville.


Mike was a 1989 graduate of Clay High School and SCJVS, and he was a physical therapy assistant, having received his Associate’s Degree from Shawnee State University.


He attended Allen Chapel in South Shore, Ky., where he was baptized.


In addition to his parents, Mike is also survived by two brothers, Larry R. (Karen) Rickey of Lucasville, and Edward Rickey of San Diego, Calif.; a sister, Cheryl Rickey of Venice, Fla.; two nephews; one niece; and two great-nephews.


Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the RALPH F. SCOTT FUNERAL HOME in Portsmouth with Rev. Peter Michael officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Burial Park.


The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m., and Monday from 9 a.m. until the funeral hour.
