A Portsmouth woman and a Dayton man are facing multiple charges after arrests on felony drug and weapons charges. Jessica N. Mounts of 1424 Park Ave., in Portsmouth, and Anthony E. Jones, 31, of 108 North Trenton St., Dayton are charged with trafficking in heroin, a second degree felony, possession of heroin, also a second degree felony, and having a weapon while under disability, a felony of the third degree.

Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini and Portsmouth Police Chief Robert Ware said around 3:20 p.m. Friday, after detectives and agents from the Southern Ohio Drug Task Force received information on the whereabouts of Mounts and Jones, they arrested the two at 220 Crain Rd. West Portsmouth.

A search warrant was obtained for the residence and officers seized approximately seventeen grams of suspected heroin, a loaded .25 cal. handgun, digital scales, approximately $400 cash, and a 2005 black Cadillac.

Mounts had an outstanding warrant for her arrest, which had been issued by the Scioto County Common Pleas Court for violating probation, while Jones had outstanding warrants for his arrest, which had been issued by Montgomery County and Miami County in Ohio for trafficking in drugs.

Mounts and Jones were held without bail in the Scioto County Jail.

Donini and Ware said anyone wishing to leave drug information for the Southern Ohio Drug Task Force can contact the Task Force tip line at 740-354-5656 or e-mail drugs@sciotocountysheriff.com. All information will be kept confidential and anonymous.
