Phyllis Spears, 73


Phyllis J. Spears, 73, of South Shore, Ky., passed away April 17, 2013, in Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky. She was born July 2, 1939, a daughter of the late Isaac Potter and Gladys Johnson Potter. She was a member of Allens Chapel Church of Christ, a 40-year Ward Clerk for Schultz Precinct, and also worked at Williams Shoe Factory in Portsmouth, Ohio. A former member of the Maloneton Fire Department Auxillary.


Preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Keen in 1963, one daughter, Kimberly Keen.


Surviving are her husband, Paul Spears whom she married, Oct. 9, 1970, three sons, Robert “Michelle” Keen of South Shore, Kentucky, Randall “Linda” Keen of Ceredo, West Virginia and Rodney “Tina” Keen of South Shore, Ky., one sister, Mary Ann Traylor of South Shore, Ky., three brothers, Wade Potter, Jimmy Potter both of South Shore, Ky. and Roger Potter of Niles, Ohio, nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.


Funeral services 2 p.m. Sunday, April 21, 2013, at the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, Kentucky with Harold Dupuy, Minister, officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, South Shore, Ky. Friends may call at the Roberson Funeral Home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2013, and from 10 a.m. until the Funeral hour on Sunday.
