Donna Broughton, 52


Donna Jean Broughton, 52, of Portsmouth, passed away Monday, March 25, 2013, at her home. She was born Nov. 23, 1960, in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late Charles and Miriam Jean Luther Austin.


Donna was a homemaker and of the Protestant faith.


She was preceded in death April 17, 1997, by her husband William Ray “Billy” Broughton; and on Jan. 21, 2013, by her longtime companion, Robert “Bob” Horner.


Surviving Donna is a brother, Steve Austin and special friend Amber Zuefle of Portsmouth; two sisters, Debra (Kevin) Cline and Tammy (Donnie Rhoden) Broughton, all of Portsmouth; a granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.


Also preceding her in death was her son, Charles Edward Broughton; two brothers, Rickey Lee and Randy Austin; a sister, Shirley Ann Stout; and a granddaughter.


Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the RALPH F. SCOTT FUNERAL HOME in Portsmouth with Rev. Howard Pruitt officiating and interment in Friendship Cemetery.


The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m., and Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m.
