Thomas Clevenger, 61


Thomas Lynn Clevenger, 61, of Portsmouth, died Sunday, March 3, 2013, at the James Cancer Center in Columbus. He was born March 2, 1952, in Portsmouth, a son of Charles Clevenger of New Boston and the late Margaret Thompson Clevenger. He was a Army Veteran serving in Vietnam and previously worked for Qwest Communication in Columbus. He was married Nov. 4, 1972, in Ashland, to Ramona Luchi Clevenger, who preceded him in death April 27, 2012.


He is survived by one daughter, Stephanie Lynn Collins, of Wheelersburg; one brother, Charles “Chuck” Clevenger and wife Rhonda, of Cedarville; one sister, Jane Newberry, of Richmond, Va.; and three grandsons, Devon Collins, Elijah Collins and Ian Spiess. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Kristi Clevenger; one brother, Marty Clevenger, and one sister, Nancy Downs.


Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, March 7, 2013, at the Swick-Bussa-Chamberlin Funeral Home in Wheelersburg, with Chuck Clevenger officiating, with interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens, with military graveside rites by the James Dickey Post 23 American Legion.
