Mildred Boland, 80


Mildred “Granny” Boland, 80 of Buena Vista, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at Concord Health Care Center. She was born April 11, 1932, in Adams County to the late William R. and Bonnie Young Hayslip. Mildred was retired from Scioto County Job and Family Services and attended Friendship Church of God. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by a son Timothy Ray Stepp, a granddaughter Sabrina Spencer, four brothers; William R. “Bobbie” Hayslip Jr., Donald Hayslip, John Dudley Hayslip and David Hayslip and a sister Rosemary Curnutte.


Mildred is survived by her husband David Duane Boland who she married on Aug. 10, 1985, three daughters; Donja Spencer of Bay Town, Texas, Sharon (Ken) Mundhenk of West Portsmouth and Deborah (Larry) Drake of Wheelersburg, a brother Thomas Hayslip of Portsmouth, two sisters; Lois Jenkins and Brenda Pelphrey both of Stout, seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.


Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Chris Wiseman officiating and interment in Mckendree Cemetery.
