Shannon Jones McLaurin


Shannon Corrine Jones McLaurin, 33, of Portsmouth, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013 at the Wexner Medical Center at the Ohio State University. She was born March 15, 1979 in Portsmouth, a daughter of Adrian “Pee Wee’ Saunders and Katherine Margaret Jones, both of Portsmouth.


Shannon was a homemaker and a member of Beulah Baptist Church. She was a 1998 Portsmouth High School graduate, and had attended Shawnee State University.


In addition to her parents, Shannon is also survived by two sons, Devin and Xavier McLaurin, both of Portsmouth; her paternal grandmother, Annette Saunders of Portsmouth; three brothers, Torrance Jordan of Chillicothe, Jerry and Brent Jones, both of Portsmouth; a sister, Adrienne Jordan of Columbus; a special sister, Sarah Rhoden of Chillicothe; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.


Funeral services will be held at noon Tuesday at Beulah Baptist Church with Rev. Adrian Jones officiating and interment in Scioto burial park.


The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to services.


Arrangements are under the direction of the RALPH F. SCOTT FUNERAL HOME in Portsmouth.
