Kathleen Fuller, Public Information Officer for District 9 of the Ohio Department of Transportation, says District 9’s Planning and Engineering Department and the district’s Environmental Office is seeking public input on several area projects.
Among those is a project to correct the landslide damage to U.S. 23 in Clay Township. A 250-foot drilled shaft wall will be constructed along the west side of U.S. 23. The project also includes new guardrail. Fuller said no new right of way will be required, and no homes, businesses or structures will be removed by the project.
Another project ODOT is seeking comment on is in nearby Adams County. The proposed project is to correct landslide damage to Ohio 125 in Tiffin Township. A 1,020-foot drilled shaft wall will be constructed along the west side of Ohio 125. That project too includes new guardrail, driveway construction and erosion control measures. Fuller said no streams or rivers will be impacted by the project; however, the project will need approximately 0.055 acres of temporary right of way and approximately 0.676 acres of permanent right of way. She said no homes, businesses or structures will be removed by the project.
