Gerald Riley 66


Gerald Jerry Ray Riley, 66, of Franklin Furnace, died Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth. He was born May 16, 1946, in Ironton, Ohio to the late John Riley and Violet Rice Fetty. He was a Vietnam War Veteran in the US Air Force. He was a self employed auto body painter a member of the Moose Lodge in Ironton and a member of the Ironton Eagles. He was also a member of the South Shore American Legion.


Surviving are his wife, Anita Wooten Riley whom he married May 8, 1985, in Wise, Va. Also surviving are two sons, Gerald Jerry Ray Riley, Jr. and Justin Taylor Riley, three daughters, Jeannie Norris, Courtney Clinage and Leatha Nacole Riley, seven brothers, Rodney Holsinger, Clifford Riley, Joe Riley, John David Riley, Rick Riley, Ora Fetty and Charles Fetty, Jr., seven sisters, Barbara Ann Delong, Sharon Pace, Linda Montgomery, Johnna Kay Stapleton, Gloria Fetty, Sandy Crawford and Teresa Fetty six grandchildren, three great grandchildren, a Mom, Betty Riley and Mother and Father-in-Law, Mary and James Wooten.


He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers, Bruce Riley, Richard Riley and Paul Fetty.


Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home with Pastor Ronnie Blevins officiating. Burial will be in Buckeye Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday 4 to 8 p.m. and one hour before the services on Tuesday. Military Graveside services will be conducted by James Dickey Post American Legion.
