Four people have been arrested, three of them charged with capital murder following an extensive five-year criminal investigation by the Greenup County Sheriff’s Department into the murders of Jeffrey Clinton Long and Pamela Lee Wills, who died in a double-murder and arson in a trailer on Leatherwood.

Chrissie Bertram-Royster, 23, of 995 Buzzard Roost Road in Garrison, Kentucky; Sammy E. Bertram, 22, no address given, and Willie Burns, 23, of 718 State Road Fork, Garrison, Kentucky, are each charged with two counts of capital murder; one count of first degree robbery; one count of first degree arson and one count of tamperin with physical evidence. Ashley N. Craft, 23, of Rock Hill, Garrison, is charged with first degree conspiracy to commit robbery.

As a part of a plea agreement, Mitchell Royster, 24, Chrissie Bertram-Royster’s husband, also of Garrison, will testify against the four. He was indicted by a grand jury in 2010 on two counts of capital murder and one count of first degree arson.

Greenup County Sheriff Keith M. Cooper said on Thursday, Greenup County Sheriff’s deputies, along with the Kentucky State Police and Lewis County Sheriff’s Department, executed multiple felony arrest warrants, which had been obtained at the conclusion of the five year investigation, led by Deputy David Bocook.

Cooper said all of the subjects were lodged in the Greenup County Detention Center, where they are being held without bond.
