Three Piketon players, led by Zach Farmer’s game-high 19, gave Piketon a 73-47 home nonconference win over Portsmouth.


Craigen Moore had 18 and Isaac Brabson added 13 in the win. Alex Dickerson and Jayllen Carter each checked in with a dozen in the loss.


Both teams hit the road for their next contests. The Trojans go to Whiteoak Tuesday and the Redstreaks take on Westfall in Friday’s SVC action.

Visiting Ironton pulled away late Saturday night to claim an 84-70 nonconference win over Peebles.

Zac Carter finished with a game-high 44 points while Trey Fletcher finished with 25. Beau Justice, who’s averaging 25.3 points per game, ended with 35 and Trent Arey with 21.

The Indians take on Chillicothe Southeastern Tuesday.

Brooklyn Adams’ basket late in overtime was enough to send visiting Wheelersburg home happy in a 65-64 win over Greenup County.

Fay Proehl led the Pirates with 23 points. Sydney Holden and Maggie Stegman each had a dozen while Adams finished with 10. Stegman grabbed 11 rebounds, Adams had 10 and Holden finished with eight rebounds, four steals and four assists. Micah Leslie led the Musketeers with 23 and Destiny Jones added 11.

Wheelersburg hosts Valley Monday.
