Larry Southworth, 66


Larry Clayton Southworth, 66, of Wheelersburg, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, at Southern Ohio Medical Center. He was born Dec. 13, 1945, in Portsmouth, a son of the late Clayton “Kack” Southworth and Kathryn Haney Southworth. He was a 1963 graduate of Wheelersburg High School, a retired Chemical Process Operator for Sunoco, a member of Berean Baptist Church where he was a Trustee and Usher, and loved Gospel Bluegrass music.


He was married Sept. 18, 1965, in New Boston, to Carol Cheek Southworth, who survives, and also surviving are his daughter, Becky Hickman and husband Dale, of Sciotodale; his granddaughter, Allison Hickman; and his brother in law and sister in law, Randy Cheek and wife Catherine, of Franklin Furnace. He is also preceded in death by his half sisters, Wilmajean Conn and Marybelle Shaffer.


Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, at the Swick-Bussa-Chamberlin Funeral Home in Wheelersburg, with Tim Wright and Phil Ruark officiating, with interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Friends may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Berean Baptist Church or the Berean Baptist Church Missions Fund. Online condolences may be made to www.swickbussachamberlin.com.
