Sanford Cooper 72


Sanford Leroy Cooper, age 72, of Franklin Furnace died Dec. 7, 2012 at his residence. He was born Dec. 12, 1939 in Scioto County, Ohio to the late Sanford Clyde Cooper and Ida Fitch Cooper. He retired from Scioto County Children’s Services and was a member of Plymouth Heights Church of Nazarene.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Teresa Moore Cooper whom he married March 12, 1973 in New Boston, Ohio.


He is survived by one son, Brian Sanford Cooper, two daughters, Corena (Mike Reed) Collier and Teresa (Vance) Syzemore, one brother, Roger Cooper, three sisters, Phyllis Blake, Doris Blake and Pat Martin and three grandchildren, Corey Payton, Coralynn Payton and Jeremy Cooper. He was also preceded in death by one son, David Scott Cooper, one grand daughter, Emily Cooper and one sister, Irene Irons.


Funeral services will be conducted, Monday, Dec. 10, 2012 at 3 p.m. at the Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg with Pastor Rick Arthurs officiating. Burial will be in Haverhill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
