Raymond Blackburn, 84


Raymond Blackburn, 84, of Minford, passed away Friday, November 9, 2012 at his son’s residence. Born December 20, 1927 in Scioto County, son of the late Floyd and Ruth M. Conkey Blackburn, he was a self-employed carpenter and a member of White Gravel Community Church.


He is survived by five sons, Robert (Kathy) Blackburn of Minford, Ronald (Cindy) Blackburn of Minford, Donnie (Vicki) Blackburn of Lucasville, Jim (Patty) Blackburn of Minford, Gary (Jennifer) Blackburn of Minford; four daughters, Linda (Ron) Oberley of Londonderry, Karen Blackburn of Minford, Vicki (David) Badgley of Hilliard, Jeanie (Brian) West of Reynoldsburg; 19 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; two brothers, Leon Blackburn of Minford, Danny Blackburn of Richfield, and three sisters, Fern (Harold) Angle of Sun City, Florida, Emelene Porter of Bradenton, Florida, and Fredia (Harold) Gampp of Portsmouth. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Beadle Blackburn on December 3, 2000 whom he married May 10, 1945; one brother, Ralph Alley, and one sister, Thelma Nunnally.


Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with David Frazie officiating. Burial will be at Blackburn Family Cemetery in Minford. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Incare Hospice (affiliate of National Church Residences) 681 East Third Street, Waverly, Ohio 45690. Online condolences may be sent to www.edafh.com.
