A South Shore native is one of two new lawyers who have joined the law office of McBrayer, McGinnis, Leslie & Kirkland located in Greenup. Daniel T. Carter Daniel is the son of Wesley and Linda “Lou” Carter, both of South Shore, Kentucky. He is the grandson of Darlene Carter and her late husband, Thomas Carter, and Iris Bivens and her late husband, Alex Bivens. Daniel graduated from Greenup County High School in 2003, the University of Louisville in 2007 and Northern Kentucky University, Salmon P. Chase College of law in May of 2011.


Along with Carter, Darya D. Thompson, has also joined the firm. Thompson is the daughter of Vicki Workman of Morehead, Kentucky and Daryl Thompson of West Liberty, Kentucky. She is the granddaughter of the late Herman and Glenna Workman and Aileen Thompson and her late husband Allen Thompson. Darya graduated from Rowan County Senior High school in 2004, Morehead State University in 2008, and Appalachian School of Law in April 2011.


“We are proud to continue to expand and provide employment despite the economy,” Bruce MacDonald, a Portsmouth native, said.


McBrayer, McGinnis, Leslie & Kirkland has four locations in the Commonwealth – Greenup, Lexington, Frankfort, and Louisville. They are a full service firm and have over 53 attorneys statewide.
