Janice Lee Veazey, 78, of Point Pleasant, went home peacefully on October 24, 2012, at her home. She was born April 22, 1934, in Leon, a daughter to the late Dencil Cossin and Helen Smith Cossin.


She retired from the Point Pleasant Register after 31 years in the production area. She was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the American Legion of Gallipolis, Ohio, and Leon Baptist Church in Leon.


She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Veazey; son, Jon Michael Veazey; brothers, Arnold, Carl, William, David and Jimmy Cossin; and sister, JoAnn Errett.


She is survived by sons, Bill Veazey of Charleston and Rex Veazey of Point Pleasant; daughters, Terri Shinn of Galloway, Ohio and Willa Cottrill of Point Pleasant; one sister, Joyce Harris of Eleanor; and 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.


A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, October 26, 2012, at the Point of Faith Church, Point Pleasant. There will be no visitation and the burial will be at the convenience of the family at the Leon Cemetery, Leon. The Deal Funeral Home is serving the family.
