Mearada Jewel Eddy, 77, of Ashton, passed away at her home on October 21, 2012, with her loving family by her side. She was born on June 17, 1935, in Coal River, a daughter to the late Orval F. Stone and Beulah Wood Stone. She was a homemaker and a member of American legion Post #23 Ladies Auxillary, and also the Jolly Dolly Club.


She is preceded in death besides her parents, by husband, Harry Bud Eddy; son, Steve F. Eddy; granddaughter, Krystal Karol Wallace; brothers, Donald, Lee, and Larry Stone; sister, Elizabeth Mitchell; and son-in-law, Herb Wallace.


She is survived by her son, Harry Wayne (Laura) Eddy; daughters, Carol (Jim) Whittington, Dreama (Larry) Taylor; sisters, Gale White and Naomi Deboard; brothers, Gary (Maxine) Stone, Edward Stone, and Ronnie Stone; as well as nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.


Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, October 25, 2012, at the Deal Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Robert Scott officiating. Burial will follow in Apple Grove Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit the family from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday evening, October 24, 2012, at the funeral home.
