Michael Crabtree, 68


Michael Dean Crabtree, 68, of Otway, died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012, at SOMC Hospice.


He was born Jan. 29, 1944 in Lucasville, a son of the late Earl and Sylvia Powell Crabtree.


Michael was a retired factory worker for Whirlpool and Ford Motor Company, a U.S Army veteran, and a 1962 Northwest High School graduate.


He is survived by one son, Clay Crabtree of Lucasville; two sisters, Christine (Dean) Porter who raised him of Otway, and Betty Taylor of Lucasville; one brother Jack Crabtree of Lima; one niece, Debbie Porter Hogan of Tampa, Fla., who is like his sister; and many other nieces and nephews.


He was also preceded in death by one sister, Marcella Burton; four brothers Jim Crabtree, Willard “Tuck” Crabtree, Dale “Bud” Crabtree, and Bill Crabtree.


Private memorial services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville.
