Virginia Smith, 88


Virginia L. Smith, 88, of Portsmouth, died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012, at Hill View Retirement Center. She was born Jan. 24, 1923, in El Paso, Texas, to the late Ewell O’Bryan and Loraine Lacy O’Bryan.


She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Edward Smith; a brother, Ewell O’Bryan; and a sister, Carol Anne Feltes.


Virginia is survived by one son, Craig (Barbara) Smith of Farmington Hills, Michigan; and their sons, Bryan (Julie) Smith, Andrew (Stephanie) Smith, and Erick (Kim) Smith; one daughter, Marsha (Robert) Cozart; and their children, Todd (Mary) Cozart, Kathryn (Inpahn) Chanthaboury, Drew (Mindy) Cozart, and Daniel (Julia) Cozart. She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren.


A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, in the Rotunda Chapel at Hill View Retirement Center.

Arrangements are under the direction of F.C. Daehler Mortuary Company in Portsmouth.
