Government leaders, businessmen and businesswomen, and other members of the community gathered Thursday to celebrate the open house at Ohio Automotive Center, at 12th and Offnere streets in Portsmouth.

“We are celebrating our new birth in Portsmouth, Ohio,” Lydia Crawford, who, along with her husband Greg Crawford, own the new dealership. “We are having some food and celebration of opening our business here in Portsmouth, Ohio, and getting to meet some wonderful folks, and enjoying all of the company. And we’re just real excited to be here with all of these people. It’s wonderful.”

The two already operate Kentucky Automotive Center in Grayson, Kentucky, where, in addition to the Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and Dodge Ram trucks, they also have a complete Ford line.

Lydia Crawford said the new dealership has fit right into the community.

“It has been tremendous,” Lydia Crawford said. “We couldn’t have received a warmer welcome. Everybody has welcomed us with open arms. We’re glad to be here and glad to be a part of the community.”

The area’s newest dealership, selling Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram, offers a full service department and parts department in addition to their sales department.

“It has been great with a lot of support, people coming out and supporting us and a lot of people coming in and looking at our products, checking out our service and parts department,” Greg Crawford said. “We have been very pleased with everything that has happened so far. It’s all going great right now. The factories coming through with several of our products. Our pre-owned inventory is growing where it needs to be, and right now it is all positive.”
