A jury has found a Greenup man guilty of murder in the death of his wife. Charles “Steve” Lee had been charged with stabbing to death Leslie “Cricket” Lanham-Lee, 40, at their Greenup home in March of 2011.

Wednesday, Greenup County Sheriff Keith M. Cooper said an extended investigation from the Greenup County Sheriff’s Department, and the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office resulted in the case being proven in court.

The Jury was charged Wednesday, went to lunch, then returned 45 minutes later with a guilty verdict and fixed Charles Lee’s sentence at life in prison. He will not be eligible for parole for 20 years.

Judge Bob Conley has set November as the time for final sentencing in the case which saw support from bikers in the region. Lanham-Lee was referred to as a crusader for women bikers.

Charles Lee remains in the Greenup County Detention Center.
