Pauliena Mitchell, 92


Pauliena Mitchell, 92, of Wheelersburg, died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at Best Care Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Wheelersburg. She was born Feb. 29, 1920, in Zanesville to Herbert and Neva (Nash) Geiger. Pauliena worked for 14 years in the Clerk of Courts office in Scioto County, retiring in 2000. She previously worked in Grove City as a switchboard operator from 1970 – 1984. Pauliena enjoyed gardening, taking care of her cats, and spending time with her family.


She is survived by one son, Paul Mitchell (Mary) of Wheelersburg; one daughter, Marlene Merritt (Gary) of Washington Courthouse; four grandchildren, Amanda Mitchell, Michael Mitchell, Jeff Merritt, Leah Merritt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde, in 2006, three brothers, one sister.


As per her request, no services will be held. Online condolences may be left at www.WolfeNelsonFuneralHome.com. Wolfe-Nelson Funeral Home in Sciotoville is handling the arrangements.
