Gregory Lavender of Center Street in Lucasville was in his house when he heard a loud noise Thursday morning. He investigated and found that someone had made an explosive out of a Mountain Dew bottle and placed it on his porch.

That explosion caused his bedroom window to shatter and caused damage to that area of his house.

Lavender told deputies when he woke up in the morning Thursday he found six other Mountain Dew bottles lying around his yard and one on the window air conditioner in his bedroom.

The Scioto County Sheriff”s Office is continuing to investigate the incident.

A Portsmouth man was recently arrested after two garages burned down and several houses suffered fire damage on High Street in Portsmouth after he reportedly created Molotov Cocktails out of bottles and apparently threw them at the structures over a 24-hour period.
