A Blue Ribbon Arson Reward of up to $5,000 is being offered to anyone with information about the person or persons responsible for the Aug. 15 arson fire on Locust Street in Wheelersburg.
Division of State Fire Marshal investigators continue to conduct interviews related to the fire, and investigators say interviews with several additional people are planned in the next week.
Investigators say they want to hear from anyone who saw something out of the ordinary at or around the time of the fire, or who may have heard someone talking about the fire with an unusual level of interest or knowledge. Anyone with information should call the Division of State Fire Marshal at 1-800-589-2728, the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office at 740-354-7566, or the Porter Township Fire Department at 740-574-6030. The fire caused heavy damage to the structure, but was contained to the interior of the home. No one was home at the time of the fire; no injuries were reported. The fire was discovered by neighbors who reported it to the fire department.
Meanwhile, the cause of Saturday’s house fire on Old Gallia Pike in Scioto County remains under investigation.
Fire investigators are looking for information from the public, and said anyone with information about the fire or anyone who may have seen something out of the ordinary at or around the time of the fire is asked to call the Division of State Fire Marshal at 1-800-589-2728. Fire investigators have determined the fire originated in the front room of the house.
The home was completely destroyed by fire; no injuries were reported. No one was home at the time of the fire. The investigation is being conducted by the Division of State Fire Marshal, the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office and the Porter Township Fire Department.
