Freshman Ky’re led all scorers with 26 points and senior Jayllen Carter scored seven of his 25 in the overtime session as visiting Portsmouth took a 69-66 SEOAL overtime win at Logan.


Carter had half of the Trojan points in the extra frame. Portsmouth finishes its regular season Saturday with a makeup game at Warren.

Notre Dame 54, Symmes Valley 40

JP Kayser’s 22 points along with 13 steals from Kevin Lewis gave Notre Dame a 54-40 SOC I win over visiting Symmes Valley on Senior Night.

Dakota Smith added 10 for the Titans, who needs an Eastern loss at East Saturday night to clinch a share of the SOC I title. Austin Baldwin paced the Vikings with 13.

Notre Dame, which has a No. 1 in the upcoming Division IV Southeast District Tournament, will wait until the Feb. 27 sectional championship at Valley High School. The Titans will play the winner of No. 9 Western and No. 8 Clay.

Symmes Valley, a No. 2 seed in the same half of the bracket, will take on No. 7 Waterford Feb. 27 at Meigs High School. The Vikings host New Boston Saturday night to finish conference obligations.

Three days after dropping the first meeting of the season, host East split the regular season series with Green in a 57-39 SOC I victory.

Patrick Bias led the Tartans with 21 points, 17 rebounds and five blocks. Justin Crager added nine points and nine rebounds. Tyler Crace and Rob Applegate each scored 11 to lead the Bobcats.

East hosts Eastern Saturday with major SOC I implications on the line. If the Eagles win, they claim the SOC I outright whereas a Tartan win secures a split between Eastern and Notre Dame.

The Tartans will enter the Division IV Southeast District Tournament as a No. 3 seed and play the rubber match with Green, a No. 6 seed, Jan. 26 at Valley.

New Boston shocked host Clay with a last-second putback to win 65-64 in SOC I play Friday night.

Shane Buckley led all scorers with 39 points and Brendan Herrforth added 12 in the Tiger victory. Eldin Sarajlic paced the Panthers with 22 points while Mason Pelphrey chipped in with 19 and Michael Schmidt added 11.

New Boston plays its regular season finale Saturday at Symmes Valley, then enter the Division IV Southeast District Tournament as the No. 10 seed, where No. 7 Manchester awaits for Tuesday’s sectional semifinal at Valley. Clay, a No. 8 seed in the same tournament, will play No. 9 Western in the first game that night at Valley.

Among four South Webster players in double figures, Levi Cook led all scorers with 21 points as the host Jeeps defeated West 63-47 in Friday’s SOC II action.

Jensen Dyer and Andrew Salisbury each had a dozen while Seth Goddard finished with 11 in the win. Zach Bolton’s 15 points and Michael Hafer’s 11 paced the Senators.

South Webster will take on the winner of No. 10 New Boston and No. 7 Manchester Feb. 27 as the Jeeps are a No. 2 seed in the Division IV Southeast District Tournament. West, a No. 6 seed in the Division III Southeast District Tournament, will play No. 11 Rock Hill Tuesday at Jackson.

But before then, the Senators travel Saturday to Adena.

Dylan Miller paced the Pirates with a game-high 21 points and Aaron Cowgill added 14. Drew Scarberry led the Mohawks with 20.

Wheelersburg is a No. 9 seed and will play No. 8 Portsmouth in a Division III Southeast Sectional Semifinal Monday at Jackson. Northwest, an 11 seed, draws No. 6 Lynchburg-Clay in Tuesday’s contest at Waverly.

Sardinia Eastern ends the SHL portion of the schedule without a loss as the Warriors down host Peebles 64-47 Friday night.

Beau Justice led the Indians with 17 points, Trent Arey added 13 and Mason Johnson grabbed seven rebounds in the loss. Peebles goes to Piketon Saturday.

Afterwards, the Indians assume a No. 3 seed in the Division III Southeast District tournament and will play the winner of No. 11 Northwest and No. 6 Lynchburg Clay next Saturday at Waverly.
