Wheelersburg extended its winning streak the three with a 42-7 thrashing of Fairland on the road Friday evening.

The visiting team piled up 42 unanswered point in a convincing road win against the Dragons.

Eddie Miller started the Pirates’s scoring deluge with a 10-yard TD pass to Aaron Cowgill with 8:17 remaining in the first quarter.

Cowgill struck against with a little over a minute left in the first with a 10-yard rush to make it 14-0 after the extra point attempt.

A Christian Ellis had a 39-yard rush, followed by a Miller-to-Ross Pyles 55-yard TD pass made it 28-0 before Cowgill added two more TD rushes to make it 42-0 ‘Burg with 9:54 remaining.

Wheelersburg will host Jackson next week.

A road-tested Dayton Jefferson team traveled to Franklin Furnace Friday night and went home 40-6 victors over Green.

Levi Mollett had 53 rushing yards on 10 attempts for the Bobcasts while teammate Clay Applegate had 41 yards on 12 carries.

Applegate added 95 yards through the air on four completions for Green. Rob Applegate had one reception for 17 yards.

The Bobcats fall to 2-2 on the season and will travel to Northwest next week.
